Production Bot 101: Setting Up Internet
In this episode of Production Bot 101, we take a look at how to connect to the internet through Wifi and a wired connection via ethernet. Both options are very simple.
Connecting to Wifi
Your Motherboard includes two wireless antennas. Once those are plugged in, you may connect to any local Wifi network. To do so, follow the following steps:
- At the bottom right of the Windows footer bar, click on the “No Connection” symbol.
- Click on “Wifi” and then on any Wifi network you’d like to connect to. If a password is needed, it will prompt you to type it. Otherwise, once you click “Connect,” you may begin using the internet.
Connecting to wired internet:
- You will need an RJ45 ethernet cable - either Cat5 or Cat6. Plug it into the ethernet port that can be found on the Motherboard.
- When the hard-line is connected, it will pop up in the bottom right corner of the Windows footer bar. Once it gets an address from the DHCP, you are connected to the internet.
You can be connected to both the Wifi and wired internet, but for live streaming purposes we recommend only using hard-wired internet in order to ensure that you are on a dedicated network, and to prevent RF hits that could interrupt your stream.
